Meet Dr. McNeal
Dr. McNeal takes a thoughtful approach to orthodontics, prioritizing customized treatments and patient comfort. By combining advanced technology with genuine care, she ensures every individual feels supported and receives the highest quality of care tailored to their specific needs.
Dr. McNeal received her Bachelor of Science degree from Angelo State University where she was inducted into the top three invitation only Honor Societies for students in the top 1% of her class. She then attended Monmouth University in New Jersey for an associateship in Sociology and studies in Human Societies. Following that, she earned a scholarship to the University of Eastern Kentucky to study Microbiology with an emphasis in Infectious Disease and earned a Master of Science degree.
Following a year of research in respiratory bacterial and viral infections at AB Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, she attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. There she received the most awards presented to a student including the Pierre Fauchard award, American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Endodontists, American Academy of Periodontology, as well as the student elect Deans Selection Committee. She graduated with Distinction with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, after graduating top of her class. Dr. McNeal then completed her residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Emory University, one of the most prestigious programs in the country.
After Emory University, Dr. McNeal continued to pursue advanced certifications such as Mastering the Business of Orthodontics from the Wharton School of Business at Penn State University and stays at the forefront of orthodontic care. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Society of Orthodontists, the Texas Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Texas Dental Association.
Dr. McNeal is proud to be born and raised a “Texan”. She and her husband Dr. Ralf Poineal have been married for over 30 years and are blessed with their son Kyle, daughter-in-law Heather, and their grandson Marshall. When not creating beautiful, healthy smiles, Dr. Mac can be found training in the gym, continuing her pilot’s training, supporting the Animal Refuge Foundation, and spending the best times with her family.
